Europe’s Top Instagrammable Spots 2024

Europe’s Top Instagrammable Spots Europe is a haven for stunning natural beauty and incredible cultural landmarks. Which of our top spots have you already visited? Or can we tempt you to try somewhere new with our list of top instagrammable spots in Europe? Amsterdam The centre of Amsterdam is known for its exceptional canal rings, ancient bridges, mix of traditional and modern architecture, and cheerfully colourful flora which are undoubtedly a delight to experience. As you explore the city be sure to notice the array of street art which pop up along the streets making powerful statements or just showing off the resident’s creative flair. Take your camera and visit Zevenlandenhuizen, which translates to “Seven Countries House”, which is literally 7 houses in a row which have all been designed in a different European style by architect Tjeerd Kuipers. Positano This famously photogenic village is a traveller’s dream. The view of pretty, pastel buildings cascading down a cliffside on the Amalfi Coast is truly jaw-dropping, and the narrow streets lined with cute cafes and charming boutiques are a paradise to get lost in. For the best photos you ideally need to be on a boat as views from the sea capture the town perfectly. Take a boat trip and experience even more of the rugged and striking Amalfi Coast. Valletta The tiny capital of Malta is inhabited by nearly 50% of the whole country’s population and is easily explored in a day. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site often referred to as one of the most concentrated historic areas in the world with 320 monuments! The view as you approach by water taxi from Sliema is a breathtaking sight, and once you enter the walled city it’s even more impressive. Republic Street and Strait Street are where you’ll find most of the action, with tonnes of little bars and restaurants to people-watch from. However, my personal favourite element of the city is all the old shop and street signs and magnificent colourful doors. Lisbon Lisbon’s various neighbourhoods all offer something different. Visit Bairro Alto district at night for narrow streets filled with laughter and drinking that has spilled out from the tiny bars that line them. Wander around Alfama, the oldest area of Lisbon and see a combination of clothes lines and vibrant garlands hanging overhead between pretty pastel houses, then head up to the viewpoint in SĂŁo Jorge Castle for an incredible vista over the city. For a unique day trip visit National Palace of Pena in Sintra, a stunning, brightly-coloured fairytale castle sitting on the top of the hills in the middle of a national park. Lake Bled This resort is the most popular in Slovenia, and with the Julian Alps and the Karavanke providing the backdrop to a romantic yet adventurous setting you can see why. A beautifully imposing medieval castle sits on a cliff edge with the most amazing vista overlooking the blue-green lake, and the area’s most photogenic focal point: The Church of the Assumption. Sitting quaintly on Bled Island in the middle of the crystal water is a thing of legends which you can visit by taking a traditional wooden boat called a pletnar to ring the “wishing bell”. The mild thermal springs ensure the lake is relatively warm until well into Autumn, so take your waterproof camera/phone case! Copenhagen As one of the most charming cities in Europe, there’s not many areas that won’t make your Instagram sparkle. Tivoli Gardens are gorgeous at dusk and after the sun has gone down as the lights look magical throughout the park. Head to the Chinese temple and rollercoaster at the north entrance for a special view. Stroll along the Nyhavn canal at sunset and marvel at the rainbow of buildings and boats (top tip: capture an arty shot by including the perfect reflections in the water!) or relax on one of the many quaint cobbled streets lined with lovely little restaurants, bars and shops.
